A recent review of pay scales indicates that CEO's now earn an average of 419 times more pay than blue-collar workers, compared to a ratio of 42 times in 1980.
还有如果能和an average of 410 times比的话,a ratio of 42 times我觉得也对呀,都是ratio 的感觉。2)还有就是as compared to 是怎么从语法上指向它在和前面 429times the pay 比上的哦?

Parland's alligator population has been declining in recent years, primarily because of hunting. Alligators prey heavily on a species of freshwater fish that is highly valued as food by Parlanders, who had hoped that the decline in the alligator population would lead to an increase in the numbers of these fish available for human consumption. Yet the population of this fish species has also declined, even though the annual number caught for human consumption has not increased.

Which of the following, if true, most helps to explain the decline in the population of the fish species?

The Chicago and Calumet Rivers originally flowed into the St. Lawrence by way of Lake Michigan, but having been redirected by constructing canals so that the water now empties into the Mississippi by way of the Illinois River.
Thirteen states from all regions的题,优先选了动词by adopting而不是adoption ,我听那题英老师的录音说by后面通过的是一个动作所以优先用动词。 换句话说这里其实和which originally flow into。。 Winning the nobel prize,he became one of the best scientists in the world.
