Last year a global disturbance of weather patterns disrupted harvests in many of the world’s important agricultural areas. Worldwide production of soybeans, an important source of protein for people and livestock alike, was not adversely affected, however. Indeed, last year’s soybean crop was actually slightly larger than average. Nevertheless, the weather phenomenon is probably responsible for a recent increase in the world price of soybeans.

Which of the following, if true, provides the strongest justification for the attribution of the increase in soybean prices to the weather phenomenon?

Industrial accidents are more common when some of the people in safety-sensitive jobs have drinking problems than when none do.  Since, even after treatment, people who have had drinking problems are somewhat more likely than other people to have drinking problems in the future, any employer trying to reduce the risk of accidents should bar anyone who has ever been treated for a drinking problem from holding a safety-sensitive job.

A major impediment to wide acceptance of electric vehicles even on the part of people who use their cars almost exclusively for commuting is the inability to use electric vehicles for occasional extended trips. In an attempt to make purchasing electric vehicles more attractive to commuters, one electric vehicle producer is planning to offer customers three days free rental of a conventional car for every 1,000 miles that they drive their electric vehicle.
Which of the following, if true, most threatens the plan's prospects for success?

His studies of ice-polished rocks in his Alpine homeland, far outside the range of present-day glaciers, led Louis Agassiz in 1837 to propose the concept of an age in which great ice sheets had existed in now currently temperate areas.
那么when和in which是不是也有同样的区别呢? 然后除去这个原因,in which/for which/from which 后面都必须有谓语,那么这个谓语是一定要紧跟在which后面么?像I have a lot of alphebets, from which derive the Greek ones.

Most of the country’s biggest daily newspapers had lower circulation in the six months from October 1995 through March 1996 than a similar period a year earlier.
than a similar period's其实就是指circulation,circulation在之前的6个月和相同时期的circulation在一年前。 然后这里in the sixth months和C选项的in a similar period比较很好,这点我认同。但是如果B在最后加个in,变成a similar period‘s in是不是语法上也就对了呢? Most of the country’s biggest daily newspapers had lower circulation in the six months from October 1995 through March 1996 than a similar period a year earlier. a similar period a similar period’s in a similar period that in a similar period that of a similar period

Responding to the public's fascination with-and sometimes undue alarm over-possible threats from asteroids, a scaledeveloped by astronomers rates the likelihood that a particular asteroid or comet may collide with Earth.
这题我有一个疑问想问,在对比CDE的时候,CD都是scale for(to),而E是scale that xxx。
