In the past several years, astronomers have detected more than 80 massive planets, most of them as large or larger than Jupiter, which circle other stars.

Heating-oil prices are expected to be higher this year than last because refiners are paying about $5 a barrel more for crude oil than they were last year.

选了c,og解释是c的选项里的that fails to refer to anything.

New data from United States Forest Service ecologists show that for every dollar spent on controlled small-scale burning, forest thinning, and the training of fire-management personnel, it saves seven dollars that would not be spent on having to extinguish big fires.
老师这个题我选择了D选项: New data是主语;show是谓语;show that 后是一个宾语从句对不对。

事后看了正确答案,是因为of the company’s cost-cutting measures 只是results 的修饰语 ?
